FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Everything below is stated the way we'd say it on a call — no hedging, no fine print.

The product

What is Basicloud?

Basicloud is a platform for building secure, white-label web portals on top of the business systems a company already runs — starting with Salesforce. You connect your system of record, configure layouts and permissions without code, and deliver branded portals to customers, partners, and employees.

How is Basicloud different from Salesforce Experience Cloud?

Experience Cloud lives inside Salesforce and is licensed and configured there. Basicloud sits outside your org: portal users need no Salesforce licenses or direct org access, branding and domains are fully yours, and modules like Task Boards and Hour Reporting run on top of your live data — while your org stays untouched. How is Basicloud different from building a portal in-house?

An in-house portal is a software project: months of engineering, a security review, and maintenance forever. Basicloud delivers the same outcome — a branded portal on your live data — configured visually in days, with security built in.

Does Basicloud work on mobile?

Yes. Portals are responsive and work in any modern mobile browser. There's no native mobile app yet.

Who can use a Basicloud portal?

Anyone you invite — customers, partners, contractors, and employees. Each person signs in to Basicloud with their own role-aware account and sees only what their role and your sharing rules allow, without a license or direct access to your underlying systems.

Data & security

Is my data copied into Basicloud?

No. Basicloud stores none of your records. Your system of record stays the source of truth — every query is proxied live to your connected system, so portal users always see real-time data.

Where is Basicloud hosted, and what data do you store?

Basicloud runs on Google Cloud Platform in the us-central1 region (Iowa, USA). Your record data stays in your own system, such as Salesforce, and is read live. Basicloud stores only portal configuration — connected objects, layouts, sharing rules, branding, and portal users — plus audit logs. Where your data lives →

How is Basicloud secured?

Every tenant is fully isolated. Row-level access control is layered on top of your source system's own permissions, and accounts are protected with two-factor authentication, encrypted tokens, httpOnly-cookie sessions, and audit trails. More on security →

How does Basicloud handle GDPR?

GDPR is built into how Basicloud works: it stores none of your records, so the personal data in them stays in your own system, under the controls you already have. Basicloud keeps only portal configuration and audit logs.

What happens if we disconnect Basicloud?

Revoke the OAuth grant and portal access to your system ends. Because Basicloud never copies your records, there is no dataset left behind on our side — your system stays exactly as it was.

Connected systems

Which systems does Basicloud support?

Salesforce is available now, connected in minutes through secure OAuth 2.0. NetSuite and HubSpot connections are coming soon. Integrations →

Which Salesforce objects does Basicloud work with?

Any object — standard or custom. All Basicloud needs is API access to your org; there is no managed package to install.

Can a portal show data from more than one system?

Yes. Basicloud is built to combine live data across the systems you run — a single portal can read from more than one connected system and present the results as one view. Salesforce is available now; NetSuite and HubSpot are coming soon and connect the same way. As with any Basicloud query, nothing is copied or synced — each system stays the source of truth.

Pricing & launch

How long does it take to launch a portal?

Connecting Salesforce over OAuth 2.0 takes minutes. Because layouts, sharing rules, and branding are configured visually rather than coded, a first portal is typically a matter of days — not an engineering project.

Do you help with implementation?

Yes. Our team helps you launch — connecting your system, configuring objects, layouts, and sharing rules, and branding the portal. Implementation is priced separately as professional services.

How is Basicloud priced?

Pricing is tailored to your company — it depends on how many portal users you have, which modules you use, and which systems you connect. Implementation is priced separately as professional services. Portal users never need licenses in your underlying systems. Contact us for pricing or book a demo. Pricing →

Is there a free trial?

Not yet, and there's no self-serve signup. Instead, we run a personal demo on your real data — connection, configuration, and a portal your customers could use.
